Introduction
Helping Hands for Hire (H3) is an initiative of the Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs (CLSN) that connects skilled caregivers, therapy assistants, and other support workers with families, schools, organizations, and events that need their services on a temporary, part-time, or contract basis. By using this platform, you agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions documented below.
Eligibility
Caregivers must be at least 18 years old to register and use the platform. All information provided during registration must be accurate and truthful.
Services Provided
The platform helps match Caregivers and helpers seeking employment opportunities, Clients (families, schools, organizations, and event planners) in need of temporary or contractual support services. H3 acts as a connector and does not directly employ caregivers.
User Responsibilities
Caregivers/Helpers: Must provide honest information regarding their skills, experience, and availability. Services must be delivered professionally, respectfully, and ethically.
Clients: Must accurately describe their service needs, ensure a safe working environment, and treat caregivers with respect.
Payment Terms
Payment terms, including rates and timelines, will be agreed upon between clients and H3 prior to service engagement. H3 will charge a minimal administrative fee of #20,000 to support the sustainability of the platform, which will be communicated clearly before agreement.
Verification & Screening
H3 encourages transparency and strives to ensure reliable connections, but clients are advised to conduct caregiver or any additional background checks as needed.
Liability Disclaimer
H3 and Candlelight Foundation are not liable for disputes, injury, loss, or damages arising from any service engagement made through the platform. Users agree to indemnify H3 and the Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs from any claims related to the misuse of the platform or services.
Privacy & Data Protection
Caregiver data will be handled confidentially and only used for the purpose of facilitating service connections. H3 complies with relevant data protection and privacy laws.
Termination of Use
H3 reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for providing false information, engaging in unethical behavior, or violating these Terms and Conditions.
Amendments
H3 may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be given at least one (1) week of notification of significant changes.
Engagement Terms
Caregivers must always maintain professionalism; punctuality, politeness, cleanliness, and appropriate attire.
Clients must treat caregivers with respect and courtesy. No form of harassment, abuse, or discrimination will be tolerated from either party.
Tasks and expectations must be clearly defined before engagement. Caregivers must only perform duties outlined in their job description or agreement. Any change to tasks or hours must be mutually agreed upon and reported to the platform.
All communication should remain respectful and relevant to caregiving duties. Sensitive or personal topics should be avoided unless necessary for care delivery.
Emergency contact and instructions must be made clear before engagement begins.
Caregivers must keep all client information private, including health, family, and home matters. Clients must also respect the caregiver's privacy and personal boundaries; no photos or posts without proper permission.
Caregivers must report any incidents, injuries, or emergencies immediately. Both parties must follow health and hygiene standards especially if vulnerable persons are involved. Clients are expected to provide a safe and hazard-free environment with no medications involved unless authorized and carefully monitored.
After each engagement, both caregiver and client are encouraged to leave feedback. If a dispute arises, CLSN will mediate fairly based on records, reports, and communication logs. Repeated violations may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
Romantic or financial relationships between caregiver and client are prohibited during the engagement.
No borrowing or lending of money, gifts, or personal favors. All payments must go through the approved Helping Hands for Hire system.
Clients should provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellation when possible. If a caregiver cannot attend a scheduled session, they must notify the client and platform immediately. CLSN will provide a replacement when needed.
Clients (especially children) must be engaged in safe, age-appropriate activities.
Care must be provided at a specified location and agreed schedule. Extra hours or overnight stays must be pre-approved.
By choosing to proceed with onboarding, the client or caregiver acknowledges and agrees to the terms of this policy.
